Hey gorgeous!
You’ve just booked in for your first No Filter photography session… Yay!! But you might be thinking “What’s Next!?”.
Don’t stress, we’ve got you. It can be daunting getting in front of the camera, (we’ve all been there!) but we are here to help make you shine like the star you are! In this three-part series we will help you get the most out of your session and walk away with jaw-dropping, high quality, photos that make you feel like the model you were born to be! So let’s dive in! First up: clothing!
Wear what makes you, YOU!
When it comes to outfits, we want you to wear what makes you feel like the best version of yourself. We all have those outfits that make you smile before you’ve even put them on. Yes, those outfits! When you’re wearing that outfit, it’s not the clothes that shine – it’s YOU! You radiate positivity and confidence and we promise you that this will absolutely shine through in your photos.
Pro-tip: Bring 2-3 outfits for each shoot. This gives you variety and mixes up the vibe through your session. The studio has a bathroom for privacy as well as mirrors to touch up your hair and make-up between outfits.
Group shots: Coordinate, don’t copy!
At No Filter we are all about the group shots with your besties. Yes, matching is cute but let’s take it to the next level! To get the best images, coordination is key but not carbon-copying! Think about a colour scheme but let everyone put their own spin on it. For example, blue. Play with different shades, textures and accents. Someone might wear blue top with black pants, while another might choose a black-and-blue polka dot dress and the third could wear a black top and blue-denim jeans. All about balance babe! We also love that this brings each unique personality to the shoot and celebrates YOU!
It’s all in the details
That scarf that goes with everything, or the necklace you can’t take off – you need these in your photoshoot! These accessories are the cherry on top and take your outfits to the next level. Not to mention an extra prop to use in your photos! Just remember: the hair band on your wrist is NOT an accessory – they stand out more than you think!
The final touch: Shoes
Shoes are the often-forgotten element, but totally worth considering! Shoes make a look feel finished especially if you’re taking professional photos. On the other hand, barefoot works for an easy-going, laid-back vibe. Just one little request; keep your shoes clean and fresh! Any marks on the background paper will show up in your photos and we want those to be flawless!
That’s it for now! Keep an eye out for part II where we will talk all things poses which will leave you feeling confident and your absolute best so don’t miss it!!
Love,
The No Filter Team x
